Bubond 396

Bubond 396 is an organic stain-blocking agent in liquid form. It is used in coatings that are applied over staining woods, such as cedar and redwood. By preventing wood extractives from bleeding through the paint films, Bubond 396 reduces discoloration commonly known as tannin staining. Bubon 396 can be post added to the coating or added in the letdown. In formulations that are pH0adjusted to the alkaline side, Bubond 396 should preferably be added prior to neutralization since the product is acidic in nature and could cause pH shock if added directly into an alkaline system.
