Universal Matter | Advanced Materials

Universal Matter has developed cleaner, faster, and less expensive technology to commercialize graphene, a carbon-based nanomaterial with multiple applications. Our proprietary Flash Joule Heating process can convert inexpensive carbon sources into ultra-thin graphene layers with an almost unlimited number of applications.

Headquartered in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, with U.S. headquarters in Houston, Universal Matter’s vision is to build on its strong R&D foundation to scale its production process and become the world’s leading supplier of lower cost and higher quality graphene materials from petcoke, agricultural feedstocks, recycled plastic, recycled rubber and coal.

Genable 1700 Series

Universal Matter | Advanced Materials

Applied Graphene Materials (AGM) is proud to offer graphene nanoplatelet dispersions that are safe to handle and easily stirred into new and existing coatings systems to provide a range of performance enhancing benefits. AGM offers different types of graphene nanoplatelets which vary in surface morphology, oxygen content and the number atomic layers, but they typically have a thickness of between 1 to 10nm with 1-25um lateral platelet diameter. This gives aspect ratios up to 1:1000 and surface areas up to 700m2/g. The Genable 1700 series of graphene dispersions are available in various carriers: Cyrene a bio-based solvent, a bio-based epoxy resin, solvent free epoxy resin, a solvent free polyester resin and VOC exempt, t-butyl acetate. With the correct incorporation, graphene nanoplatelets have the potential to significantly enhance an array of properties including: Anti-corrosion; Chemical resistance; Moisture resistance; Barrier and mechanical properties; Lubricating properties
